The what!?

With the release of the new Content Level system, we’ve put in place a Civitai “mini-game” – the Rater.

We’re working on improving our content moderation system, and we’d love if you could help improve our data! Think mechanical turk, but for Civitai! We’ll use the data collected to help us make better content decisions in future.

Why would I play?

Out of the goodness of your heart, and a desire to help Civitai succeed! We’re not giving out Buzz ⚡ for this, but you can be immortalized on the Image Rater Leaderboard, and earn a Badge!

How do I play?

It’s extremely simple; the goal is to rate the images displayed, using the following as a guide;

To achieve this, there are a set of Content Level buttons below the image, allowing you to select the appropriate rating for the image;

Pretty straightforward! The following buttons might need a little extra explanation;

• The “return” button – If you’re having second thoughts about the last image you rated, click here to return to it and make another determination.

• The “red flag” button – If you’re served an image which you believe breaks the Civitai Terms of Service, please click the red flag to raise it with our Moderation team.

• The “Skip” button – If you can’t make a determination, you can skip the current image and receive a new one to rate.

You can also choose to mute the wonderful (and not even slightly annoying) sounds each button plays on click from the speaker icon below the Skip button.

Accuracy & Strikes

We do have a system in place to rate your accuracy to avoid anyone trying to intentionally (or unintentionally) skew any collected data!

Every few images you’ll be shown a Control Image – an image we know the rating of – and your rating will be compared to that known rating. They’re generally images which are easy to make determinations on. If you get the rating wrong, you’ll be given a strike. You can make up to three strikes before it’s game over and your Level is reset to 0!
