We’re excited to introduce crypto payments for Buzz. This gives you a secure and convenient way to get the Buzz you need.
This guide will walk you through the easiest way to purchase Buzz using crypto, step-by-step, with Coinbase as the recommended method. But it’s not the only way – if you’re already comfortable sending crypto from your own wallet or exchange, feel free to use whatever method works best for you. As long as you’re using one of our supported cryptocurrencies and following the correct instructions at checkout, you’re good to go.
How to Purchase Buzz with Crypto
The following steps walk you through the basics of purchasing Buzz using crypto on Civitai using Coinbase – covering everything from selecting your coin to completing the transaction. While this tutorial covers using Coinbase for simplicity, the process is similar no matter which wallet or exchange you prefer – just make sure you’re using one of our supported cryptocurrencies!
Prerequisites
For this guide, you’ll need an active Coinbase account. We’ll be using Coinbase to purchase and send crypto, since it offers one of the simplest experiences for new users.
We also assume that you have funded your Coinbase account – we recommend buying USDC – US Dollar Coin, which is what we’ll be using in this guide.
We are not able to assist with setting up or troubleshooting your Coinbase account. If you run into issues during account creation or verification, please reach out directly to Coinbase Support for help.
Start Your Buzz Purchase
Head to the Buzz purchase page on Civitai to begin. This is where you’ll choose how much Buzz you want.
Select “Pay with Crypto” as your payment method.
Choose Your Crypto
After selecting Crypto on the Buzz purchase page, you’ll be redirected to our trusted payment processor, NOWPayments. Here, you’ll choose which cryptocurrency you want to use from our list of supported options:
- USDC (on multiple networks – Base is recommended)
- USDT (also on multiple networks – Base recommended)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- TRON (TRX)
- Solana (SOL)
- Dogecoin (DOGE)
- Shiba Inu (SHIB)
For this guide, we’re using USDC on the Base network, which is a great option because it doesn’t charge any network (gas) fees – making it fast and cost-effective.
By default, the initial checkout page shows Ethereum, but you can click to choose your preferred coin.
Select your coin of choice. To select USDC on the Base network, search for USDCB in the coin list – that’s the version with no gas fees.
Click Next Step to continue the process.
Note: You must leave this page open, and complete the subsequent steps within a 20 minute time limit.
Send the Payment
You’ll now see the Send Deposit screen with a QR code, the exact amount of crypto, and the wallet address to send it to. If you’re using Coinbase Wallet on mobile, you can simply scan the QR code to auto-fill everything.
For this guide, we’ll copy the amount and the wallet address into Coinbase manually to complete the payment. WARNING: Be sure to enter both exactly as shown – even a small mistake can result in lost funds!
Open the Coinbase App
Log into the Coinbase web app and click the “Send crypto” button in the right hand side of the dashboard.
This will open the transfer window where you’ll enter the wallet address from the NowPayment screen. Hit enter to continue.
Select Asset (Coin)
In the “Select Asset” field, choose USDC from your available crypto. This needs to match what you selected on the NOWPayments screen (in this guide, we chose USDC on the Base network). Using a different coin or network could result in lost funds – so double-check before continuing.
Select Network
Next, select the network for the transaction. We recommend choosing Base, which has no gas fees and is fast and reliable.
Your network must match the one you selected on the NowPayments screen. In this guide, we chose USDC on the Base network, so make sure Base is selected here as well.
Enter Amount
Copy the exact amount of USDC shown on the NOWPayments tab and paste it into the Amount field in Coinbase.
Make sure to match the amount exactly, down to the decimal. Sending the wrong amount will prevent your Buzz being delivered.
Preview the Payment
On the Preview screen, carefully double-check the following before clicking Send now:
- The amount is exactly what was requested
- The wallet address matches the one shown on the NowPayments screen
- The network is set to Base
Send Review
After sending, you’ll see the Send Review screen. This shows key details about your transaction:
- The amount sent
- The recipient wallet address
- The network used (Base)
- The network fee (should be $0 on Base)
- The date and Status
Pay attention to the Status – this will show a countdown. Most transactions on Base confirm in 15–25 seconds, depending on network availability.
Once the Status changes to “Completed,” you’re good to go – switch back to the NOWPayments tab to finish the process.
Verify Transaction Completion
After your Coinbase transaction is marked Completed, the NOWPayments tab will automatically update to a “Payment Processing” screen.
Keep this tab open – the system is confirming your payment on the blockchain. This step usually takes 3–5 minutes, though it often completes much faster. Don’t refresh!
Payment Successful! Buzz Received!
Once your payment is confirmed, you’ll be automatically redirected to Civitai’s Payment Complete screen. Your Buzz will should be available immediately in your account – you’re all done!

Q: Which coins are supported?
A: We support the following coins;
- USDC (on multiple networks – Base is recommended)

Q: Can I use crypto to buy a Civitai Membership?
A: Not yet – crypto payments are currently limited to buying Buzz only.
Q: What if I don’t own any crypto?
A: You’ll need to purchase one of the supported cryptocurrencies to complete your Buzz purchase. you can do this on Coinbase.com, or any other Coin exchange.
Q: Can I use any wallet?
A: Most Ethereum-compatible wallets are supported, but for simplicity, we recommend Coinbase Wallet on mobile, or the main Coinbase web-app on desktop.
Q: What if I send the wrong coin or to the wrong address, or the wrong amount?
A: Unfortunately, crypto transactions are irreversible. Always double-check you’re using the correct coin and wallet address. We are not able to recover misdirected funds, or issue refunds on crypto payments.
Q: Will my Buzz be available immediately after payment?
A: Usually within a few minutes, depending on coin choice and network congestion. If you’re using USDC Base and don’t see your Buzz after 30 minutes, contact support. Other coins and networks may take longer to process.
Q: Are there fees?
A: Yes – network (gas) fees may apply depending on your wallet and coin. Coinbase often includes this in their checkout, but it varies based on your coin choice. Civitai charges a $1 flat-fee for Crypto purchases.
Q: Is crypto payment secure?
A: Yes. We use a secure processor to handle Crypto payments, and your wallet info is never stored on Civitai’s servers.
Q: Why isn’t Bitcoin supported?
A: We’ve chosen to support popular coins with low transaction fees through NOWPayments. Bitcoin’s fees are significantly higher, which makes it impractical for Buzz purchases. If you hold Bitcoin, we recommend converting it to a supported coin like USDC before checking out.
