What is CivBot?

CivBot is a Large Language Model (LLM) agent, trained on Civitai documentation, to answer questions about the features available on Civitai.com, Generative AI, and generally be a helpful assistant to your time on the site. Read on, to find out how CivBot can help enhance your Civitai experience, in Civitai’s Guide to CivBot!

The icon to start chatting with CivBot is at the bottom right of most Civitai.com pages.

We’re constantly expanding his knowledge and capabilities to make him as useful as possible!

CivBot has a number of pre-set Questions which can be helpful to get the latest updates on new site features, news, or issues, without having to type out a question.

Currently, these pre-set questions include responses for;

  • What can you do? – CivBot will list out some of his capabilities.
  • Known Issues – CivBot will list the latest known information for the biggest issues facing Civitai at the current point in time.
  • Website Status – CivBot will provide a quick overview of current site health.
  • I need more help! – CivBot will link directly to our Support Portal.
  • Help! My account has been restricted – CivBot will supply information relating to restricted accounts.
  • Tell me about Civitai – A brief history lesson, from Prof. CivBot!
  • I need a prompt! – CivBot will enter “prompt designer” mode, helping you craft awesome prompts!

CivBot currently has a “memory” of up to one week of chats. During this time he will recall past conversations, allowing you to continue a conversation without having to re-enter any context. If you’d like to clear his “memory”, click the reload button, in the top right of CivBot’s header pane;

What can CivBot do?

CivBot does many things well, including;

  • Answering questions about the current status of the Civitai.com service.
  • Providing information on Civitai’s Terms of Service and other site policies.
  • Provide definitions, and detailed explanations, of many Stable Diffusion and Generative AI concepts.
  • Recommending on-site resources for a given theme or topic.
  • Providing (work-safe!) image prompts.
  • Documenting bugs and site-issues for the Community Management, and Development teams.
  • Remember and recall information from previous conversations (up to one week).

What CAN’T CivBot do?

  • Make system changes! CivBot can’t reactivate a muted account, change an email address or access details about your profile or account settings.
  • CivBot can’t generate images directly.
  • He can’t answer site policy questions which aren’t included in the Terms of Service, or other documents we’ve fed him.
  • Create NSFW image prompts!
  • Have NSFW conversations – he will avoid all attempts to engage in potentially mature/NSFW conversations.

CivBot Special Functions

In addition to being a helpful assistant, CivBot has context allowing him to engineer your image prompts! This capability is growing as he learns, but with his current context, he can create quite good prompts on a given theme. To use his prompting capabilities, enter “I need a prompt!

I have crafted a prompt for you based on your theme of “ghosts in an old castle”:

“Capture the haunting presence of ethereal spirits in an ancient castle. Show the interplay of light and shadow, (eerie:1.2) atmosphere, (mysterious:1.1) figures, (translucent:1.3) apparitions, and (decaying:1.2) architecture. Inspired by the works of (Henri Cartier-Bresson:1.4) and (Ansel Adams:1.3).”

This prompt aims to evoke a sense of mystery and supernatural elements within the context of an old castle. The emphasis on specific modifiers like “eerie,” “mysterious,” “translucent,” and “decaying” sets the tone for the image. The reference to photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson and Ansel Adams suggests a desire for a composition that combines storytelling and technical excellence.

I have created a prompt for you based on your theme of a regal young queen surveying her kingdom from a balcony:

“Capture the majestic presence of a young queen as she gazes upon her vast kingdom from a grand balcony. Emphasize her (commanding:1.3) presence, (regal:1.2) attire, and (confident:1.1) expression. Surround her with a panoramic view of (lush:1.2) landscapes, (towering:1.3) castles, and (bustling:1.1) subjects. Inspired by the works of (Annie Leibovitz:1.4) and (Diego Velázquez:1.3).”

This prompt aims to depict a powerful and regal young queen as she overlooks her kingdom. The modifiers like “commanding,” “regal,” and “confident” highlight her authority and presence. The mention of “lush landscapes,” “towering castles,” and “bustling subjects” sets the scene for a grand and expansive kingdom. The reference to photographers Annie Leibovitz and painter Diego Velázquez suggests a desire for a composition that combines portraiture and historical grandeur.

Model Recommendation Engine

CivBot has been integrated with our extensive model databases, enabling him to recommend checkpoints and LoRAs based on any given theme.

To receive a personalized model recommendation, simply type, “I need a model recommendation!” and follow CivBot’s interactive prompts!

I don’t think CivBot responded correctly!

That’s entirely possible! All Large Language Models suffer from “hallucinations” – generating text which is factually incorrect, sometimes with non-existent links or sources to support their information. We’ve done our best to make sure CivBot only supplies accurate information, but he definitely gets things wrong from time to time.

If you believe you’ve been served factually inaccurate information, please reach out to [email protected].

Additionally, all CivBot responses are reviewed by a human admin, for accuracy, and corrected as needed.

I need more help!

If you need help which CivBot can’t provide, or are concerned at a response you’ve received from CivBot, please reach out to a Community Manager at [email protected], or via the Civitai Feedback System.
